Women, Work, and Community
Overview
WWC is a statewide organization committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families. Despite having centers throughout Maine, WWC lacked visibility outside of its tight circles. Encompass was hired in June, 2003 to help determine and build WWC’s brand identity in order to: 1) attract greater funding, 2) gain visibility in the greater Maine community, and 3) reach more women who could utilize their services.
Our Work
Encompass conducted a series of focus groups and key-person interviews throughout Maine, after which we crafted a 5-year strategic plan that outlined short, mid and long-term priorities. An integral part of this plan included the development of a statewide Ambassador program. The purpose of this program was to harness the enthusiasm of program participants to position WWC as the organization for economic empowerment for Maine women.
On-Going Support
Since then, Encompass has been engaged on an on-going basis to guide the implementation of the strategic plan, build internal staff capacity around marketing, and design the creative promotional materials for the organization. In 2009, we updated the Marketing Plan and are currently involved in advancing stories in traditional and social media, building a new WWC website, and providing overall guidance on outreach efforts.
