Focus Groups & Surveys

Do you want to find out how the community perceives your organization?

Do you want to know how your target audience thinks you could provide better or more services?

Encompass provides qualitative research services as part of our strategic planning process or as a separate service.

Our qualitative research services include:

Email & Handout Surveys

Written surveys that are emailed, or handed out at the conclusion of a program, can be the most efficient way to obtain feedback from service recipients, donors, volunteers and the general community.

Our process includes working with clients to determine the overall survey objectives, then crafting questions to achieve results.

Emailed surveys are sent out privately so that recipients only see their name on the “To” line. Recipients select appropriate answers and then click a “submit” button which sends the survey to our designated mailbox for analysis. Encompass will analyze the responses and provide written recommendations.

Focus Groups

Focus groups are typically comprised of 10-12 individuals who come together around table to share their opinions on a particular topic. Focus groups are valuable because they tell you why people feel a particular way. Often, greater information is uncovered due to the group discussion that evokes deeper feelings or opinions than would surface in individual surveys.

Encompass has a skilled facilitator experienced in focus groups that will work with your organization to identify research objectives, criteria for participants, and topics to be discussed in the groups.

Depending on the nature of the group and your organization’s in-house capabilities, Encompass will either manage participant recruitment or provide guidance to in-house staff. Following the group facilitation, Encompass will analyze the groups and provide written recommendations.
