About Us
We help quality organizations find their unique voice.
Founded in 1999, Encompass is a group of innovative strategists, creatives, programmers and relationship builders, who enjoy helping quality organizations get noticed for what they do.
We take a holistic, collaborative approach to meeting our client’s communication needs. First we step back to find out our clients’ goals, who they are trying to reach and what they are trying to communicate. Then we can work in an informed and strategic way to meet their needs efficiently, on budget and on time.

Jeff Soifer, Partner, Creative Director Bio
Jeff has over 20 years of experience in graphic design and illustration and now directs the creative side of Encompass’ projects. His ability to find workable creative solutions to the communication needs of businesses and organizations stems in part from his unconventional path to a career in design. Jeff holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin with majors in marketing, international business and German literature, as well as a law degree from The American University Washington College of Law. This, bolstered by experience in both large corporate design environments as well as small creative agencies has aided his ability to work well with a wide range of clients and create award-winning designs.
Jeff moved to Maine from Washington, DC in 1998, helped establish Encompass Marketing, and then in 2011, due to a job opportunity for his wife, moved to the Pacific Northwest. Jeff now lives on the banks of beautiful Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington with his wife and three children and, because of the magic of modern technology, is able to continue his work with Encompass remotely. In his spare time, Jeff likes to create his own artwork and offer his talents to help local arts and non-profit organizations. Jeff is a founding member of Out of the Box Theater in Lewiston and a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.

Agnes Butterfrump, Mascot Bio
Agnes has been with us since the beginning. She is our mentor, our compass, our inspiration and our sometimes phone answerer. Agnes, a citizen (and student) of the world, first came to us after a long illness from which she still hasn’t completely recovered, but the attributes of which she will gladly relate over her daily tumbler of Perrier (anything stronger gives her gas). She has years of experience in what she does, and it shows. She is a firm believer in all that is good and tirelessly fights, when her health allows, for the rights of the downtrodden and oppressed. Although we don’t see much of Agnes in the office these days, she is always happy to help with anything we need, from strategy ideas, to copy writing, to design, to programming, to contributing to our blog. She is a true Jack-of-all-trades and we’re lucky to have her with us.
